What does the future look like?

This blog began as a practicum project to help finish off my Journalism minor but that is over and I want to keep things going because this is something I really enjoy. I quite like writing about games and hope people like reading the things I write. That being said the focus of the blog has shifted from assignment to hobby but that doesn’t mean I want things to be stagnant. If anything it gives me more freedom

Goals

  1. My first goal is interaction. I think it would be cool to have people who comment and discuss in the comment sections of my posts. At the moment it can feel like I’m writing to the void so my first goal is to create something engaging enough to spark discussion, or have a following that likes to talk to me/each other.
  2. Another goal of mine is to create content that is unique to me. I don’t quite have the logistics of this figured out but I want to use this blog to create something special be it content, or community.
  3. Networking. I would like to use this blog to connect with other writers who have similar interests. To be honest before this I wrote in a vacuum and didn’t really look at other peoples work but I’m going to change that and try and be a part of community while I try and create my own.
  4. My final goal (that’s not just make numbers bigger) is to get good practice in. To truly practice writing I have to take risks so in that vein I need to think up something to get myself out there.

What my present looks like

It may seem weird to write all this out and post it, especially since I’ve been lacking in posting but I will use this opportunity to catch people up. This summer I have been staying with my sister while I wait for my house to be ready. I haven’t been able to write much since I am limited to gaming on what this laptop can run. I have a review I was writing that is on pause because I can’t play it on my laptop, I’m also unemployed and am unable to purchase new games to write about. I’m trying to think of ways to keep going despite this but that is why things have slowed down so just know this is temporary.

Thanks for reading, hopefully a new post will be up soon but at the moment I don’t really have anything in mind.

One response to “What are my goals?”
